On the Hunt for a New Digital SLR

About a year ago I bought a Sony DSC-H1 which is a higher level camera that gives the ability to do manual adjustments such as aperture, shutter, and other adjustments that let you really want to get the affects that you want.

While that is cool the main reason that I wanted a new camera was that my other camera was just so sssslllllooowwwwww. Literally it was at least 1 second between the time that you pressed the button to the time that the camera would actually take the picture. This was not working very well with a little 1 year old running around. I was taking terrible pictures.

So I bought an open boxed DSC-H1 for around $300. Good deal for the camera.

While it is faster then my other camera my kids are faster now so I am starting to feel some of the same type of pain. Also the DSC-H1 does not do very well in the house without the flash and with the flash it has a tendency to over expose. Thus I want a DSLR now.

So in my looking I was surprised to find out that a couple of people I know where looking at Digital Cameras from PC World. I never thought of PC World as being a place that I would buy a camera from but after I checked their site I found that the sell ever gadget under the sun.

So I decided to see what cameras they offer and found that they have the latest and greatest available. The thing that I like the best about their site is that it allows you to do side-by-side comparisons of any models that you want. Currently I am looking a couple a Canon models verses Pentax. The Canons are the most popular but Pentax has the best prices.

Now all I have to do is talk the wife into letting me buy a new camera ;-) .
