Mortgage Brokers Rock

As you know we just bought a brand new house here in Texas. Before the move I did a lot of research into what housing costs where, property taxes, job availability – basically the whole enchilada.

What I did not do was research out what type of mortgage we were going to get (30 year fixed verses variable interest) or whether we were going to do the Points or the Fees thing on the mortgage. I was planning on getting a mortgage but thank God we ended up needing one.

I did have one before though in the house that we had in California. For that house I ended up going though a broker that looked at how much money we had, what we needed, and figured out the best way to go. I tell you, I do not think that we would have ever gotten into that house without the broker.

There was even a point where they told me that they needed more money for the down payment. I said to them as nice as I could – “I told you, I DO NOT HAVE ANYMORE MONEY”. The guy turned around and went back in his office. A few minutes later said – “OK, I figured out how we can do it with your current down payment.” Brokers rock.
