So as I mentioned in a previous post I have been thinking about going back to school to finish my bachelors degree. In my research online I found out that Devry is just down the street from my work (I can see their building from my office) so I scheduled an appointment with them to check them out.

I have to say that I really feel foolish after getting out of the meeting with the counselor. I was always under the impression that Universities where really expensive and that you had to pay as you went through.

That is not the case.

My counselor went through how their school works, how much it costs, and how they work with you to get government grants and loans in order to go to school. The grant you do not have to pay back of course but I did not know that you do not have to start paying on the loans until 6 months after you graduate. If I would have know that I would have gone to Devry (or a similar school) a long time ago. Oh well, better late then never.

Anyway, I came home and told the wife about it and she is all for it. It is an investment in our future that is well worth it. We figure that the degree will pay for itself within 5 years. Not bad.
