High Car Payments? Refinance and Save Some Money

Monday, October 2nd, 2006

Recently my wife and I were talking with some friends that were feeling a little pinch financially due to some life changes happening in their family. Having been there a time or too before we recommended to them that refinance on or both of their cars with a new Auto Refinance loan.

It is no secret that you can often get better financing then what you can get at the dealer. Unfortunately though it is not always easy to find it.

One company that helps in this matter is rategenius.com. At Rate Genius they have a full set of FAQ’s that explain about the refinance process and estimate home much you could save every month on your payment. They even have an offer that allows you to skip 3 months of payments (just in time for Christmas).

Anyway, if you did not get the best deal on your auto loan check out Raqte Genius to see what they can do for you.

Hercules Hooks - The Easy Way to Hang Things on Your Wall

Tuesday, September 19th, 2006

The the As Seen on TV folks have come out with their latest goodie which I think is really cool - Hercules Hook.

What they are is little pin type of hooks that you twist and then push into the wall - no hammer needed. Then you can hang anything you want on the wall up to 150lbs.

The thing that I like about them is that they seem to blend into the wall really well as opposed to nails that can really be eye sores.

You can get them at amazon.com.

Blinksale - An Easy Way to Keep Track of Invoices

Tuesday, September 19th, 2006

I have been doing a little work on the side lately and did not have a way to get invoices out to customers in an easy and professional looking way.

Enter Blinksale.

I came across them a few months back on TechCrunch. Basically they are a web-based Quickbooks type of site that allows you to send out invoices to your customers via e-mail. They have a free account that allows you to do 3 invoices a month.

I am happy to say that I had to purchase there services because I needed to exceed that 3 invoice limit.

Another thing that is cool about them is the fact that if you have PayPal you can have people pay you via PayPal via you Blinksale invoice automatically. I just had one customer do that today.

It looks like I won’t be digging through bank statements this year year to do my taxes thanks to Blinksale ;-) .

In Car Entertainment = Sanity for Parents

Monday, September 18th, 2006

My wife and I made one of the best investments that we ever have before - a portable DVD player. Right now it gets strapped to the back the headrest  of the middle seat of the van for my 2 oldest ones to watch.

As cool as it is it is going to be short lived within the next 9 months as my little boy turns 1 year old and will want to watch too.  Therefore I am going to need a new roof mounted screen so all of them can see it. On top of that I will need to get a new stereo system because I am sure that the factor one is not going to work very well.

To get an idea of what I am up against I have been looking at in car audio systems that will not break the bank. Dixons has a wide variety of products that is right up my ally whether it is a new deck or the whole DVD system with the screen. It is nice to see that their prices are reasonable so it won’t break my bank.

The Death of Adsense as a Battle Cry

Monday, September 18th, 2006

It has been a few days since I posted on this guy that is chanting “Death of Adsense“.

No really it is just a guy that has this site with a free E-book that tells you his experience with Adsense verses affiliate programs. His experience is the same as mine - affiliates rock while Adsense is well… dead in comparison.

One last thing. He is proving his point by letting you have a free affiliate where he pays $0.50 to you for everyone that downloads his free e-book from his site. I honestly have made more from his affiliate in the few days since my post then I did in Adsense on 5 blogs.

I am a believer.

Check him out here - The Death of Adsense.

Carbonite - A Great PC Backup Solution

Monday, September 18th, 2006

A friend at work asked me a few weeks ago if I knew of a good company to use for backups for his home PC. I really had not looked into but after a little research I found that Xdrive was still in business and that they where giving away 5GB for free for backup.

Well as cool as that is it suffers from the same problem that causes most people not to backup there data at home - it is manual. You have to sit there and copy your files to Xdrive.

Well today I saw this piece at TechCrunch about a company named Carbonite has a little different twist. What you do with them is download a piece of software that you then tell it what you want to backup. Then the software uploads 2GB a day until the backup is complete. Then it continues to upload on a daily basis without you having to do anything.

Compare Prices on eBay Against Online Stores

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006

This is great tool to get the best price whether it is on eBay or an online retailer.

I download the price comparison tool and installed it to see what kind of deals I could find. Specifically I have been looking for a 1GB Memory Stick for my Sony camera.

As soon as I opened the program I searched for “Memory Stick Pro” and was presented with over two thousand results for my search. The first result on the list was a 2GB memory stick for $15 less then I had found a similar 1GB stick.

I was immediately interested so I checked out more.

I ended up finding a brand name 2GB Memory Stick for $20 less then what I had found a 1GB Stick.

This is definitely a tool that will stay on my computer and be used on a regular basis.

MXZ Saw - $14.90 - Why Pay More for it?

Thursday, August 17th, 2006

MXZ Saw - $14.90 - You’ve seen the ads for the MXZ Saw on TV for this price. Unfortunately there are a lot of companies out there that want to sell the MXZ saw for more then that. You know that they are only trying to make a profit but I am sure that you do not want to pay more.

I looked around myself for the best price of the MXZ saw and I found it for $14.90 at this web site. They are a reputable company that you can trust.

Now about the MXZ saw - this thing is amazing! I am sure that you have seen the commercial where the person used the MXZ saw to cut through a cinder block and the blade was still sharp!

Ginsu step aside - you can’t hang with the MXZ Saw!

Not only can the MXZ saw cut through that cinder block, they say it can saw through steel, glass bricks, and hardwood. The MXZ saw is the only saw you need for projects around the house.

Another cool thing about the MXZ saw is that it is not a standard saw blade. It is sort of a serrated blade but it is only serrated on the sides. Because of this you can run your fingers across it without getting cut.

The MXZ saw is a really good tool to have around the house for working in the garage or in the yard.

Remember the best price I found the MXZ saw for is $14.90. Other site sell the it for $20 or more!

You can BUY IT HERE FOR $14.90 or by clicking on the picture at the top.

Solar Car Fan for Your Car Window - As Seen on TV

Tuesday, August 8th, 2006

Ever since my post - Auto Cool Solar Car Fan - Keep Your Car Cool in the Summer - I have gotten a lot of traffic from people searching for “Solar Car Fans” to put in the window of their car. I guess it is because of the “As Seen on TV” commercials.

The cool thing about the solar car fan is that since it runs on solar electricity so you do not have to worry about it draining the battery of your car. The little fan just uses the solar power to continue to spin no matter how long you are in the store.

To help people find a good price on the solar car fan I checked around and found the solar car fan for $14.95 at amazon.com.

You can buy the solar car fan by clicking below.
