One Touch Can Opener - No More Nasty Cuts

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

You have to thank God that someone finally came up with this type of can opener.

It’s called the One Touch Can Opener. This thing is the bomb.

You do not have to worry about metal lid falling in the can with this thing because it cuts the side of the can instead. I know I am not the only one that’s been opening a can and have the dusty lid fall into the can - there goes dinner.

Also, and this is gross I know, but you do not have to worry about cutting your finger getting the lid out (I am cringing while I type this - insert sound of little girl screaming here).

Ok, enough of that. This thing will save you from all things wicked that attempt to part you from that can of pork n’ beans. Get one.

I got word that this web site was taken over by Gnomes and now they are trying to off load them.

The word on the street is that if you enter the coupon code “gnome-bloggers” (without the quotes) that you will get a 10% discount at checkout.

I am thinking about picking up this guy to stand at my front door.

Christian Family Blog - My Blog about Raising My Family as Christians

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006

I usually do not plug my Christian Blog about my family very often because I do not think that people usually appreciate having religious views thrust upon them.

To me this case is a little different though.

Me, being a Christian, I want my kids to grow up a be product members of society. In order for them to do that I need to be that. For my I have gotten the most direction from the Christian Church.

I grew up as a Catholic but as a Catholic God seemed so far away. He seemed like he was up in heaven and we were way, way down here. Only the “called ones” ever got to talk to him and only a fraction of those ever heard from God. Also, the only way to get to heaven was to be a really good person and then MAYBE you would get in.

As a Christian I was taught that God is here - he is everywhere. Then if you believe that Jesus died on the cross for you sins, and you accept that sacrifice, then God lives in you and you go to heaven. There are no rules that you “need to follow” but that if you are really saved from hell that you are thankful and that makes you want to be a good person.

That is where I am at.

MXZ Saw - $14.90 - Why Pay More for it?

Thursday, August 17th, 2006

MXZ Saw - $14.90 - You’ve seen the ads for the MXZ Saw on TV for this price. Unfortunately there are a lot of companies out there that want to sell the MXZ saw for more then that. You know that they are only trying to make a profit but I am sure that you do not want to pay more.

I looked around myself for the best price of the MXZ saw and I found it for $14.90 at this web site. They are a reputable company that you can trust.

Now about the MXZ saw - this thing is amazing! I am sure that you have seen the commercial where the person used the MXZ saw to cut through a cinder block and the blade was still sharp!

Ginsu step aside - you can’t hang with the MXZ Saw!

Not only can the MXZ saw cut through that cinder block, they say it can saw through steel, glass bricks, and hardwood. The MXZ saw is the only saw you need for projects around the house.

Another cool thing about the MXZ saw is that it is not a standard saw blade. It is sort of a serrated blade but it is only serrated on the sides. Because of this you can run your fingers across it without getting cut.

The MXZ saw is a really good tool to have around the house for working in the garage or in the yard.

Remember the best price I found the MXZ saw for is $14.90. Other site sell the it for $20 or more!

You can BUY IT HERE FOR $14.90 or by clicking on the picture at the top.

Round Rock Real Estate Market - Still Going Strong

Wednesday, August 16th, 2006

Well 6 months here in Round Rock, Texas and the local real estate market is still strong here.

We had a friend that came out from California to look at houses and see if she wanted to move here. She looked in our neighborhood but our house had already gone up in price $15,000 since we put the deposit on it in December.

The other thing that is different is that our friend wanted to put a deposit down on a house but she told the agent that she was going to have to put her house up for sale in California when she got back. The agent apologized and informed her that they could not accept a deposit from her until she was in escrow in California.

I am constantly on the search for home improvement ideas so that I can do cool things to our house.

I came across this Home Improvement Ideas Blog which I already found good tips on how to save money on my lawn care.

They also have a cool post about this “Canoe Sink” instead of a double sink in the master bathroom.

Check it out.

Using School Furniture to Decorate the Kids Rooms

Monday, August 14th, 2006

I came across this web site that has school furniture and found several things that I would like to have in my kid’s bedrooms.

One thing that I liked is this play rug for my daughters room. It would add a lot of color to her room while protecting the carpet. Her and her brother have a tendency to eat while watching TV in their rooms and they drop crumbs all over the place (which incidentally sent daddy to Home Depot for ant killer).

The price for the rug is good especially when you look at how much it would cost me to replace the carpet in her room alone.

Boxing Gloves - Let the Kids Settle it Themselves

Tuesday, August 8th, 2006

I have 3 kids.

The oldest likes to hit the middle one. She hits back.

The youngest one is putting on weight twice as quick as the other 2 did - he won’t be picked on.

When these guys get older they are going to need a constructive way to address their differences.

My suggestion - Boxing Gloves.

Why might you say? Because they will be able to wail on each other with minimum damage (right now they don’t have any padding and they hit each other).

The only thing is I think my daughter would be the king of the ring ;-) .

Santa Fe Mission Recliner - Now that’s Nice

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

santa-fe-chair2.jpgI am doing a lot of posts about stuff for the house today - must be because I am working from home.

Anyway, I had seen one these chairs at furniture store a while back and fell in love with it. It goes perfect with our bedroom furniture that my Grandpa made for us.

I found it over at bizchair.com. They have a whole lot of recliners of different makes and models and free shipping on top of that!

The price on it is actual a whole lot better then the one that I saw previously so I will probably looking here once I can find space in our room for it ;-) .
